Our history in the UK
Our UK presence is well established and dates back to 1989.
Beginning as a joint venture between Peine Salzgitter AG and Arbed SA, AP Steel UK Ltd began trading from facilities in Scunthorpe in 1989 as a stockholders stockholder for universal beams and columns.
In 2005 we entered in to cooperation with Borusan Mannesmann of Turkey to develop the UK market for hollow sections and tubes using the trading name of Borusan Mannesmann UK
In 2007 AP Steel and Borusan Mannesmann UK moved from Scunthorpe to Harrogate and became fully incorporated into Salzgitter Mannesmann UK.
In 2012 AP Steel and BMUK were rebranded as Salzgitter Mannesmann UK further strengthening our market position.
